A few blog posts ago we featured the Restaurant Week Launch Party for the Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce. The event was hosted and catered by Agave. The food was excellent and the restaurant looked like a great place to have dinner. We were lucky enough to come back and feature them in this week's entry. Helping us introduce the award-winning Agave Mexican Bistro (Portsmouth Location) is General Manager, Jason Morin.
It's great to be back Jason, please tell our readers what Agave is all about.
Fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine, served in an upscale atmosphere, with dining rooms and lounges on two levels. Our moderately priced food menu is buttressed by an extensive tequila selection, boasting over eighty varieties of tequila, as well as our award-winning margarita selection.
For our first menu item we went with the Shrimp & Avocado Salad. Please tell us about this colorful salad.
It is a colorful and refreshing selection, served with grilled, marinated shrimp, bell peppers and diced mango, served over a bed of fresh mixed greens with our homemade honey-lime-cilantro dressing.
Next we had the Classic Chile Relleno. Please describe this meal, Jason.
The Classic Chile Relleno is roasted and peeled poblano chile stuffed with Chihuahua cheese, covered in a lightly fried meringue, and blanketed with a seasoned tomato sauce. Accompanied by Mexican rice and refried beans.
We were also able to try the Carne Asada Plato. What's this meal?
The Carne Asada Plato is made up of seasoned, grilled skirt steak, cooked to your liking, and served with flour tortillas, Chihuahua cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, and housemade guacamole. Accompanied by Mexican rice and refried beans.
To end our night we had to have dessert. What delicious dish do you have for us?
The Churros, which are lightly fried Mexican donuts, rolled in cinnamon and sugar, and served with vanilla ice cream, drizzled with chocolate sauce and cajeta caramel sauce.
